Life's a Stretch for this Regular Guy.
David is not a "fire and brimstone" kind of speaker. He's a "regular guy" that people completely and wholeheartedly relate to within moments. His story is inspirational not so much for the great things he's accomplished in his life, but more for the fact that people listen to him and say, "he's just like me." In fact, when David says, "if I can do it, anyone can," people believe him. His delivery is low key; his passion and enthusiasm are anything but.
Therein lies the magic of David Johnson, the speaker, the man, the successful businessman. He's the quiet one who has always let his actions speak louder than his words. Growing up in the midwest, David was a young boy who loved sports and looked up to the Mickey Mantles, the Stan Musials, the Hank Aarons of the game--the quiet achievers from an era when athletes played for the love of the game and not much else.
A Success in Business
David has enjoyed a successful business career--eight years in the insurance industry, 10 years in real estate, and seven years in marketing. In 1999, David became the Founder and President of Hobbs/Herder Marketing Systems, building his RECAMP® system to help professionals effectively market themselves, establish long-lasting business relationships and build strong referral-based networks. David takes great pride in mentoring entrepreneurs and top producers in achieving their own success. David has always shunned the plaques, certificates, trips and other mementos of recognition. Like his idols, it is the passion of accomplishment and love of the game that drives him.
David has also made his mark as an avid entrepreneur. He was a savvy businessman with a knack for making the right calls, succeeding where others had failed, then becoming a recognized expert/consultant sought out for his expertise. It was true when he opened a new business in a down economy and built it into a successful venture. The "Midas touch" also happened with other businesses.
A New Challenge
With David, it was always about finding the next challenge. Not so much restless as driven, David entered a new field, mastered it, shared his expertise and moved on. David has been very successful winning many awards and much recognition despite his low-key demeanor. In business, David shifted his talents and focus to create the RECAMP® referral networking system. A complete marketing program directed at helping professionals generate a constant flow of referrals. RECAMP® has been a huge success, but even more successful for the business minded entrepreneurs who purchased the licensing to use the system.
When You Give... You Get!
Today, as President of Hobbs/Herder Marketing Systems, David's passion is sharing his inspirational message, his wealth of ideas and his refreshing perspective on the industry. David's message is "if you want, you have to give." He helps them ascertain what it is they are willing to give in order to receive. "For some it's new priorities. For others it's time; for others, money," David explains. But either way, David reinvigorates his audiences with a new perspective to their careers and helps them stretch their minds with new ideas. David has found the right mix and delivery to strike a chord with his audiences and make a special connection, to get them to "stretch" their thinking and vision.
"When people attend our training sessions," David says, "they don't think the same way afterwards. It reminds me of my favorite quote by Oliver Wendell Holmes: 'Man's mind once stretched by a new idea, never returns to the same dimension.'"
